Qs for Selling Price of 98 328is

Anyone knows what is the average selling price for a 1998 328is (sport package). My car has around 118000 km at this time.

I am planning to get rid of my car around next year in February 2008. The average kilometer for me to drive is 1000 km per month. In other words, the car will be around 121000 km.

Thanks.

if you sell it at the beginning of next summer, you'll probably get about 9K for it

Oh really? So, it is not good to sell it in February, right?

So, what is the best way to sell it, through autotrader or just drive the car to any wholesellers and let them appraise the car?

The car is non-modified and well maintained without rust. Everything is original.

i would list the car on kijiji/craigslist in toronto, montreal, ottawa, etc.

i would list the car on ebay

i would list the car on autotrader

i'd start listing the car at the end of march, hoping to sell in early april.

depending on the condition, i'd list it for 10999$, and hole to settle somewhere between 9-10.

If the car has winter tires, you can easily add about 500$ to the price, if they dont wanna pay the extra for the winters, hold em for the summer, in the winter they'll sell easily and for good money.

Also, do yourself a favour. take LOTS of pictures. at least 50. take pictures of reciepts and maintenance paperwork aswell, its all salesmanship, people want to see that.

Alright, thanks.

I have everything that you mentioned, but I don't have enough pictures since the car is so dirty right now.

BTW, do you know how to avoid people for joy riding and how to avoid accidents during test driving?

You can offer to drive the vehicle during a test drive so they can see/hear how it drives. Other than that you can typically gauge someone's interest level by the types of questions they ask, if they seem very interested and mature let them take it for a spin

drive the car yourself on the test drive, tell the person they can drive it if they bring a deposit. (grand or so is usually OK)

Or you let them drive with you in the passenger seat.

I still wouldn't trust the driver. No way.

Just checked the odometer again, it is only 112,000km up to date. Hopefully, I can sell it before February or early spring next year.

I remember there was a thread in this forum from one of the member here saying that his car got stolen during test drive, WTF.
