Just imported a ZHP!
Hey,
First post here...but I recently imported a ZHP (just finalizing the steps of getting it registered now).
A couple quick questions:
1) My car had bottomed out previously, and there is a slight scrap on the undercarriage of the car. Its scrapped past the rust coating, to the metal of the frame (but no replacement needed)....will this be a problem with rusting issues?
Should I get this part recoated? If so, is this covered under warranty or not?
2) If I get the car serviced at an indy shop (ie./ Bimmersport), will that void my warranty?
Thanks in advance....
I've attached a pic below:

Just go to Crappy Tire or Princess Auto or something, but a spray can of rubberized undercoating and spray away. Does a good job.

Thanks guys,
I picked her up for $28k, am still in the process of finalizing it. Total price will be about $32k CAD. I'm happy considering it only has 56,xxx km on it (34000 mile).....and has warranty till 2011.
So if I take the car to bimmersport for inspections/oil changes....will that be okay on the warranty?

If it's down to the metal, you should get that area cleaned up a bit, remove any surface rust that might have formed.
Then put some good primer on it, and paint the area. Colour won't matter, just put some paint on the areas where metal is showing.
Then, the canadian tire undercoating should be applied. Rust proofing is a bit different than the undercoating.
If you just undercoat it now, without preparing the area, you're just covering an area that will continue to rust underneath.

Thanks for the tips and compliments guys, much appreciated.
kevin, it does have the red needles, and the 6800 redline limit bc its the US model. Only downside is, mph is predominant. I don't have any shots of the cluster yet, but I'll take some this weekend.

Congrats, nice car. Enjoy.
I get my regular service done at bimmersport and have never had any problems getting warranty work done at the dealer ( when my car was still under warranty).
