Common Rear Bumper Problem

Rear bumper of my car is hanging a little bit, everyone i ask says that bmw has a little rubber latch that goes from the car body to the bumper that holds it up, im told that they always break - has anyone experienced this - should i go to bmw and get new rubber latch or is there some other way around it
