Tire Rack-Anyone order off of them?
They claim that in the final price includes everything. Now what about broker fees lol.. It's not written there. So if it says $600 for 4 tires shipped, then I pay $600 and that's it?
IMPORTANT INFORMATION — PLEASE READ!
CANADIAN ORDERS:
The sales taxes and duties included in this order are collected on behalf of the applicable Canadian government agencies. No additional taxes, duties, or fees will be collected by UPS Canada upon delivery of this order.
Delivery may be delayed by customs procedures.

It could be true. They could be a non-resident importer, and are charged the brokerage fee on their account, so that you pay nothing.

I'd call them and see. I know for sure that up until recent years people were getting nailed with huge taxes/brokerage fees from Tirerack.
Oh and report back, because if that's true I'm ordering today.

Yea, I'm curious as well as to how the final price shapes up and how it compares to the same tire here. Lets not forget that you still have to install and balance them once they're shipped. Here, you have the convenience of purchasing and installation at once. The price savings would have to be rather substantial for me to consider buying from Tire Rack.

if you buy the tires & rims from them, they will mount & balance them for you at a very low price or free.
Many years ago I bought a set of OZ rims with Bridgestone SO2 tires, had them shipped to my shop, paid Tirerack $2600, and when they got to my door I had to pay another $300(brokerage fee) before they would release them to me.

When you check out, it adds canadian taxes, brokerage fees and shipping to the bill. So you are paying for everything, just ahead of time upfront and no suprizes at the door with the UPS guy.

Not sure about brokerage fees, but years ago I just drove my car (with bald tires) to the TireRack on a Sunday afternoon. Left @7am and was back @9pm. If you don't want to drive all the way to Chicago, you can go to one of many Discount Tire stores around Detroit.. they will match any TireRack price and it's only a 3hr drive away.

Thanks for the tip, and you're right. I just tried it out on the site, and immediately after the scribble the original poster quoted they break down all of the charges.
This is actually a better deal than locally in some cases. Crazy.

If they deliver UPS, that's the part I'd be worried about.
I've stopped buying from anyone that uses UPS for cross border delivery. I used to always get my stuff but there'd always be a bill in the mail afterwards for ridiculously high fees.
How bad would it be to pick them up in Ogdensburg or Massena?

That's pretty good if it's true. $20 broker fees on $450 worth of tires. I have a friend that will(should) be calling them and UPS in the morning, to make sure.
Joey: I thought of that as well. Those Falken's at $168($672CDN) here are only $97 each and $50 shipped($438USD)+Duty+gas+tolls+$5 for the UPS store+ 4 hours of my time.. and I can get them installed and balanced for free So I'm wondering if I'll save all that much... Should have bought some when I was at Bav Auto

Update As Promised. Here is what I was giving in response to asking about broker fees.
Quote:
Anthony,
We are a able to handle the broker fees for you. The costs will be less than you are accustomed to paying for broker fees, but we also realize this is a better way to earn more of the Canadian market that we have strived to earn for so long.
It is a good deal my friend. No gimmicks.
If you have any questions you can reach me at (800) 428-8355 ext. 691. My name is Fred.
If you place you order online, please place my name on the order as we do get credit for helping our customers.
Respectfully,
Fred,

Is that $658.99CDN for four tires, duty (if any), taxes, brokage fee, etc. shipped to your door? That's very good! Let us know when the tires arrived and how things work out. Thanks.

NO! Who told you to get ES100s?!
Well they are good at some things (excellent steering response, dry traction, heat range), but they're horrible at others (wet traction, noise, ride quality, tramlining, treadwear).
I recommend changing your order. No joke, Kumho SPT's are THE bargain tire to get from them.
