What do you mean by "7 series should be a sports car and anything else by your standards should be a sports car."
It just doesn't make sense.

Are you saying that M3 coupe is not luxury sports car?

i'm not trying to anyone. i think i've heard sentenses like those " the chassis of that car is based on the chassis of car X"

Yes, it can. The difference though is that E36 M3 coupe and sedan has identical drive train, suspension geometry, etc.

Hence on the track can achieve a higher top speed and sticks to the road better. Kev, put a 2 door E36 and a 4-door E36 side by side and look. Why do you think that the E36 M3 GTR was a 4 Door?

Anyone ever watching Touring Car racing !?!?!? Four Doors.
Anyways, who cares. Both can be awesome............ but it's easier to hit it in the back seat of a four door............. you can take your good friends in a 4 door............. carry more junk in a four door........... hawt chicks mistake you for a responsible caring family type in a four door and swoon that shiate................ four doors are quicker to flip................. cops don't hound you as much in a four door....................... list goes on and on and on.

LOL by the way, I was joking when I said 4 door m3's aren't real m3's.
p.s. coupes are sexier than sedans.
