it isnt .. then a 7 series should be a sports car and anything else by your standards should be a sports car.

The fact that they made another m3 sedan is a disgrace .. now an m5 i understand but why bother with the m3's to make them 4 door luxury sport cars

the insurance industry doesn't make the cars, so who are they to tell the manufacturers what to classify them as. insurance companies have their own classifications for their own purposes. this insurance argument is irrelevant. they consider a mid 90's 2 door sunbird a sports car. oh, and God forbid you buy this shit box in red, because then it really is a sports car LOL

so, what is the difference between a sports car and a luxury sports car? Corvettes have leather, GPS and heated seats. I guess they are luxury sports cars, as opposed to sports cars, because they have luxury features.

can't 2 cars have identical chassis but different bodies?
i'm not trying to anyone. i think i've heard sentenses like those " the chassis of that car is based on the chassis of car X"

I think Wikipedia explains the differences the best yet I dont agree with it being a 2 seater as porsches are not 2 seaters.

Insurance companies do not consider a 2 door car a sports car. Also the difference between a sedan and a coupe is very little. I asked my insurance company what's the difference between 4 door and 2 door m3. It was $7 a month extra for coupe. The reason? It is harder to pull your body out of a back seat of a 2 door car.
