Reader snaps four-door M3 undergoing tests in Germany

Confirmation of the four-door M3 comes from reader Chris Hyman, who spotted this lightly disguised saloon with sunroof (hence a steel roof) at the Nurburgring. Expect the car to go on sale in the UK early in 2008. BMW still hasn’t confirmed whether there will be a Touring version of the M3, but that now seems almost certain.

Technically, the real definition of a true sports car is a high performance 2 seater. So only the z series should be considered sports cars.
But, if you consider the m3 coupe a sports car then how can you say a sedan is not? They both have back seats.

Sedan and a coupe e36 share identical chassis. They the same car with a different skin. So if you think m3 coupe is a sports car, then sedan m3 is a sports car as well.
