This is the exact image I was hoping for when I googled "e30 canoe"!! Thank you!! Had to bring back a conoe from the cottage this afternoon but didn't know if I needed extra wide bars on the rack to make it fit, and couldn't find a good place to tie down the front.
Check out the front strapping job; around the hood hinge! No rear strap, and two straps over the top. 110kmh and it didn't budge for 2 hours!
Rofl good stuff. Did it the straps damage your hood?? that's what i was worried about rubbing the paint off. Ya i usually just strap the back if am not going to far the double strap on the top does it all car looks good by the way
I put all sorts of crap on my racks; furniture, canoe, bikes, tote box, skis and boards. The straps didn't hurt the hood at all. Who needs sport-utes anyways?!!
It's a Sportrack. Not the rain gutter kind, just a ratcheting type. It does the job. I can attach all sorts of attachment to it quite easily as it has a sliding track built into it.
