I pre-fitted ix sideskirts and flares on 84 318i without much problems.
You can find a set for around $100.

^ The rear flares are the wrong shape. It will fit, but it won't fit perfect. Trust me I know, tried, etc etc... But then again I'm very picky about bodywork, sans my own car

I tried and with little modification to the mountings and some triming they fit perfect. They only make sense if you are doing bodywork and painting the car.

maybe you could paint bottom of your rockers red try to colormatch it as good as possible and then it might not stick out as much,,
