Question BMW & aftermarket steering wheels

hey guys...i wanted to change the steering wheel on my e30 and just have a few questions...

1) where i can find some real bmw steering wheels or fake ones that at least have the symbol in it?

2) does anyone know if all momo steering wheels fit on e30's? if not, what sizes will fit?

3) is it a bitch to install a new steering wheel?

I'm only gonna answer 2 & 3;

Any MOMO will fit as long as you have the right hub, they are sold individually for each vehicle (specific year/model).

To install: take nut off (very tight), remove old steering wheel, put MOMO in, tighten nut...Done!

I think we are talking about E30's with no airbags...E36 owners have to worry about that one!

Best to get it wherever you get the steering wheel, also most performance shops should be able to get it for you...also keep your eyes on the Buy and Sell...sometimes there are good deals there!

Also, Some '91 E30's from the states had airbags in them as well as very late production E30 Cabs. Generally US cars only. Canada was a little slower on the implementing of SRS systems

I stand corrected. I did know that I had seen airbags in E30's. I just could not remember when this happened.

I have seen the same one on a 318 convertible but I think it was an E36 steering wheel swap...

Guys,

E30's doesn't have airbags - and all of the steering wheels from BMW/M-TECH doesn't have airbag for E30's.

I have been told that some has installed E36 steering wheels with airbag into their E30s - and by that mod did they get airbag.

OK - I'm not a tech woman, but a modification like this seems for me to very complicated.

When we look at steering wheels for E30 do we have a very good and decent range of options (BMW/M-TECH) + an ocean of options when it comes to aftermarket steering wheels.

In addition can you find many very good used steering wheels in MINT condition, at least over here. The M-TECH Type 1 can be found at around USD 125,- shipment included and Type 2 a little bit more expensive.

My favorite when it comes to steering wheels is the TYPE 2 - its THE wheel
