Electrical question

So I got my Depo headlights installed, and then I installed ThinLine Angel Eyes. Today I cut the wire for the side lights (same bulb as turn signals) because it just looks bad (IMO) when that's on with the xenons/angel eyes.

OBC is displaying the message now (Check side lights) so is there a way to erase that, or should I just connect angel eyes there so the computer will still read that the lights are working?

I'll try over the weekend, but I'm 99% sure that if that same wire is connected to something else that needs 12V (inverter in my case) the OBC message should go away.

It needs to have an appropriate resistor. An inverter will fry the fuse, as it draws far more current than the bulb it replaces. Basically measure the resistance of the bulb, and solder in a replacement resistor, and you're kosher.

there we go that sounds like a good idea, because there would be a good chance of blowing it if it is the wrong resistor. Good luck, respond with outcome.

I finally did this today, and connecting that wire to the inverter for angel eyes is all you need to do so OBC stops displaying the message to check side lights.

I guess the main computer just wants to see something using power, because the inverters put out over 500V so I'm sure they use MUCH more power than the side light bulbs.

Works like a charm, no more OBC error messages.
