Help!

Ok, well my car has been sitting for a while because I'm waiting to get my safety from the guy I bought it from, so I was bored and decided to change my oil with my friend. So we drained the oil, and when we changed the filter, my friend happened to tighten it way too much. So when I started the engine, oil was leaking like no tomorrow. So I bought a new filter and some more oil, this time I changed the filter. Turned the car on and no leaks. But my problem is that the oil that was spilled started to smoke up with the car is on due to the heat. So basically my question is what should I do about cleaning/removing the spilled oil. So I just let it burn off? should I to wash it off with some soap and water? perhaps water and a degreasing agent? Any help on my situation would be great.

Thanks

No big deal... just let the oil burn off and you'll be fine. The tough part is putting up with the smell for that short period of time!

Thanks, are you sure it won't catch on fire or anything?
