newsflash! I've just been told by a friend of mine (works for Massiv Die -division of Magna) that they are currently working on tooling for a "2010 Mercedes Gullwing door skins".

They're also working on tooling for the new Z4, which is going to be built in Germany (keeping the S.Carolina plant only for the X3 & X5 production.

and yeah if u read thru my threads i posted all that all over the place before.

btw the doors are some high strength aluminum, light like a feather compared to other shit we do.

there is also a mercedes hybrid hood, but i do not believe it's for this car, it looks more like for one of the SL coupes

anyways, it looks like MB took design cues from cars that are already out there... was expecting quite a different design sorta like when the CLS came out...

nontheless it'll prob look sick when they officially release it at the end of the day it is just an artist's rendering anyways

That MB looks sweet!! Sure, it's got a touch of Porsche design in it, but that's not a bad thing. It's different enough to call their own, and it looks really nice. Though we all know how these "artist renderings" really go... hopefully, it looks something like this when it spits out the other end of the production line.
