This is an artist's rendition of the 2010 Mercedes SLC. Gullwing doors to boot! Pretty sweet IMO, nicer & more original styling than the current SLR

wow, thats... radical
bringing in cues from the 300SL gullwing is too americanish IMO, it can be done nicely, but it seems to be the trend for the american manufacturers trying to stay afloat, MB need not do this

I think those are the SLC pics. Thats intended to compete w/ R8 Audi I believe.
The '09 SL is getting CLS style head lights w/ an SLK style nose

It looks ok good, but front design doesnt match the side after a pillar

oh I mean presently. Mercedes has this boring design strategy, we all know BMW, Audi, Lexus IS, etc take more risks in their design. A radically redesigned SL is just what the company needs to put it back on the map.. They started doing it right with the new S and the C-Class but then the rest of the lineup still looks like it needs some work..

I don't know about that. Of all the companies I think M-B is putting out the best designs over the last 10 years. Lexus are all boring and often quite ugly. BMW... The latest 7-Series, E60 5-Series, Z4 and X3 are some of the ugliest looking things. Audi's also are sweet in terms of design, but I wouldn't want to own an Audi for a day without waranty
The current SL is beautiful; after almost 5 years it still looks great and is aging well.
