Broken Strings in Cab

The first picture is when the top is up, you can barely see the broken string
picture 2 & 3 you see the broken string
dealer want to replace the liner, since the plastic was a little creak in it. I rather replace the string and then see whats happen
New liner is 1200 & 5 hr of labour, the SA did give a # to phone the wreckers to see is they could find a used one.
Also the dealer spend about 1.5 hrs before they found the problem and did not charge me for the time
Does any one have stringing drawning

If this is an E36 then,

To repair the panels you are looking at $216.13 parts and labor. I am suprised that the dealer quoted you a complete headliner.

There is a repair kit for this issue from BMW I have repaired alot of these in the past.

I am Halifax at the moment , our 6th grandchild was born on Sunday so we went for a visit
Will be back in the home by Sunday / Monday
