How's this?
Rob, you're famous now. How's this for nice 18" M5 wheels on your car? Courtesy of the roadfly boards.

I'm just wondering when Rob's actually going to take it onto the track...instead of just the street ;-)

-Anyways $5000 later, car was back on the road. Bavarian told me not to drive the car hard until 8-10,000 kms (can't even use synthetic oil yet!!)
-Stored the car again Nov 1st 2001.
-Will get the car on the track this Spring, hopefully!!

Rob,
So, did you buy the car with the 2.5L stroker motor in it already, or did you have that done yourself?
From your timeline, you mention that you kept the pistons that were in the block when you rebuilt it.
However, most Bavarian stroker (Stage 2) has a set of forged, short skirt Wiseco pistons installed, and they don't use the factory ones.
In fact, the 2.5L stroker motors that Bavarian is doing is a mild bore and longer stroke; which means the factory pistons don't work. I take it someone else had the stroker built before you bought it?
Just wondering....
Pat

Rob,
Okay, just wondering. Yes, they're probably Wiseco pistons, which are an excellent choice.
Damn shame you had to rebuild a motor that was probably fairly recently rebuilt....
