Anybody have personal experience with the M50/S50 hybrid?

Hey guys,
First off let me just say some there are some very sexy fives on here. Hopefully after my first year of University this coming year, I'll be sitting in something that would be quite unique.

Anyway, after a heartbreaking mess this past winter with my plans on building up a beautiful e34, I have decided to build on something that wouldn't get me in trouble with parking enforcment or get towed away.

So just a little background if you don't really know about the M50/S50 camshaft swap. The M50 motors out of the 325's and 525's can have I believe one of their camshafts swapped with those from an M3(s50/s52) motor. I'm still trieng to iron out a few rinkles in the whole procedure but anyway the end result is an added 20 horsepower. Ofcourse just swapping the camshafts won't give the best results there are some other things that need to be done as well.

as I stated earlier in my post, I am going to be a first year university student, and I kind of thought to myself, what is an easy way to still fulfil your hunger of doing something quite nice to something BMw that would differentiate myself between my friends(Hondas, Acuras, Pontiacs) and I(BMW nut). That won't really have me worrying about getting a letter from the police telling me that my car was impounded, or paying high premiums for insurance. So I decided to buy an M50(Vanos version) and encorporate the S50 cams into it so that I'll have something that will go a little better than the average 525i.

As the subject isn't really talked about in the various 5 series forums that I am a part of I just thought I would ask anybody in my hometown if anybody had any experiences with this kind of thing?

BTW: I am still looking for a M50 Vanos(I believe 93 and up) I've looked at some junkyards and would prefer to find something that can be verified and papers are present, as well as tiny bit of service records to compliment it.

Also another one of my of the things I was planning on doing was developing a dual exhaust setup for the e34. Bending the pipes won't be a problem as I will go to a shop to do that but I was just wondering if anybody had any experiences with this subject as well. Was there anyway to work around the gas tank and spare wheel well without any major modification?

Anyway any information would be appreciated.
