Helicoil question

To do a rethread on a sparkplug hole does the whole head have to be removed or can it be done with everything intact
also any shops to do this around kitchener/waterloo/cambridge area?

any shop should be able to do this for you.

I don't know if they'd wanna take the head off or not, hopefully no shavings would drop in .

I've done it a few times, and i've never had to take the head off to do it. It's pretty much like installing another spark plug. Just be careful when your threading the helicoil in!

Don't know of specific shop. However, it's a simple procedure (just did it in the 5 series) and I expect any shop should be able to do it.

sounds good.. i want to get it done ASAP

do they give warranty just in case something happens (I know that places like canadian tire have little kids working there, summer jobs for $14/hr)
I dont want anything to **** up or else i will be out A LOT of $$

any good suggestions like
canadian tire, parts source, i will call a couple places also

I went to canadian tire and they refered me to another shop, problem is the guy only has 5 and 1/2 inch length to insert the helicoil, i measured my cylinder hole to be roughly about 6inches, so im not sure what to do now

they said they put grease at the end to catch most metal shavings, than turn car on without sparkplug to blow out the rest
