They do but are high maintance and insurace definatly doesn't favour them in Quebec, more then 2X's the yearly rate in comparison to your e36 318.
Price around, a e30 in good condition for a worthwhile price is almost impossible to find in the ottawa area as I'm sure Dave has already told you.

well only maintenance thing that is worrysome to me is the Rubber timing belt and it letting go.
my 95 2.8L jetta cost me $695 full coverage.
my 318 is $296 for liability a year (yes it has an alarm & we have dogs).
as for no choices in ottawa T'is true!! but i was looking on some mntrl sites
Holy E30's batman! they're everywhere around there & only 2hrs away.

i had also looked (online) at a couple of STI swapped late 90's legacy's for around $9500 - to $12000
http://www.montreal-subaru-club.com/...ic.php?t=48059
but they all sold Faaaast..
that woulda been nice boosted 300hp awd...yep i would'a enjoyed making payments on something like that

E30's are not high maintenance. Parts are cheap, and they are very easy to work on, if they ever need it. Just a little bit of preventative maintenance will keep the e30 running forever.
Adam, don't worry about the timing belt, just replace it and the waterpump every 3-4 years and you will never have a problem. The job takes less than a day to complete, including many beer/smoke breaks
but damn that legacy would have been sweet

My neighbour just bought an '05 Saab 9-2x Aero for $21K, they go as low as $18K for that year. Look out for them dropping in price like crazy in the next few years thanks to the GM affiliation. They're a Subaru WRX wagon with more leather, of course.
