Rust proof application

Ok guys I fixed some rust on few spots and want to do rust proofing on my car..

I know there are several rust proof spray shop which sprays tons of rust proof material on the car and let it drip for few days..

Now I want to just buy couple cans of spray to do it DIY.

Have anyone done this before? Let's say I buy 2 cans of rust proof spray, where should I spray those? Just all the exterior?

i use the the red can i believe on my civic, i just spray it everywhere i can, all the joints and places where water will typically pool. i take the doorskins off and back pannels off to get in those places where you normally cant reach. under the car i try to get as much as possible and in and around the suspension components.
why not just spend the 100 bucks and get someone like RMP or krown to do it for you? they will do a much better job and quite honestly its peice of mind for your bimmer.

Just went to Canadian tire to buy one of those products. (rust check).

there are 3 kinds of rust proof/killer spray so I asked them.

They told me that the difference is just a color..I was like what?? color?

They told me that the red cap has a red color and gray cap has a gray color also if I spray those on my car they work as a paint and it won't go off..

I was like wtf.. I haven't heard of that... does RMP good on rust proof??

I would go there just that little bit far from where I live right now.

What you are looking for is a "Rust Check Rust Inhibitor", and not the coating or rust killer products. Those are paints that convert rust to metal, or stop it from spreading (somewhat). You don't want to use that!

You're looking for a Inhibitor, which more like the WD40 oil. I think the oilish product is redish in colour.

Spray that Windshield Area you just worked on. The area between the Rubber and the Glass (not the paint). This will slow down the rust that is under there.

At the base of the doors, there are two drain holes (front and back). You can stick the little straw/extender and spray some stuff in there. This will protect the door seams, which BMW's rust at.

Also, front of the hood, above the headlights area, there are some tight corners. E46 rust there. Spray there.

I would also spray the lips of the fender (back side).

Rust check is okay but krown is way beter the sell the spray cans at there stores you shuld check it out

yes I picked up one of those rust inhibitor and I sprayed on the ground.

Color of material is red but doesn't seems like a paint. It was just a red oil.

yes I will go one of those Krown shops to get a rust service or buy few cans of spray.

I read other forum and people there recommanded going a shop located on Queensway.
