WTF where they smoking?
Hey guys,
I followed a link and ended up on this other forum talking about new the BMW M3. Heres the link and some of my favourite quotes.
http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgur...%3Den%26sa%3DN
"GM always had better reliability than BMW. Anyways, the car like all Beemers except the 6 look bloated."
"Owned a 3 series. Greatest driving car I ever had. Wouldn't touch the new ones, though. They've been Bangled (absolutely awful styling), and they seem to have the GM reliability disease now. Pity."
Are you kidding me, GM has better reliability then BMW? ahahaha ya right!

You're telling me... try having one of these cars that you paid a pretty penny for, having the tranny fail and then finding out it's GM tranny... That's what happened to me... The ZF Auto tranny's in the E46's...

Why do you all keep calling it a GM transmission? ZF is a German company that has been around since 1915...

You guys call yourselves BMW enthusiasts?
BMW been using GM autos for years, and while pretty much everything that is made by GM sucks, their autos and A/C systems are among the best in the world.

Uhh yea - you get married and see how that works... when your wife is a physiotherapist with an excellent paying job, you tell me how much she'll put up with - That's just stupid talk...

What?
Getrag is GM. ZF is german.
e36's came with getrags on the lower models, and ZF's on the higher models (328's, m3's) proving that the ZF's were more capable of holding HP than the GM versions.

Then I misunderstood Charlie when he told me - either way, apparently my POS '99 323i had a GM auto tranny...
