Dirty Rims
hey guys i have a little problem with my wheels. i wash them like every week and like 2 days after they get really dirty, i think its massive break dust going on. how do i fix this problem? when i clean i have to do each spoke at a time which is a pain. i used those break dust cleaners where you spray before you wash, but still they get very dirty very fast.

welcome to BMW life. you can always stop using your brakes heehee
I wipe my rims down every time I'm filling gas (every few days) and thoroughly wash them when I wash the car. No solution to your problem, buddy.

try using different brake pads, I'm using Hawks HP(S or +) brake pads in my 540, after I wash my rims, they stay clean for about 2 weeks.

As an interesting side note, my HPS are now squealing like cats in a vise. About 2/3 life gone, however I'm satisfied as they survived 30k of Polski driving.

Yeah I got about 2 years of aggressive driving on them with M front brakes.
Very nice and reliable street pad. Much better then OEM and doesn't dust too much compared to the HP+.

According to my maintenance file, I have 75k on my rear HPS' and 48k on the fronts. Can't remember ever looking at them recently, but I'm pretty light on brakes.

Holy shit, I just reviewed when I bought them, they were on the original dirtye30 for 25k, and now on the beater for 20k. So 45k, two cars, and two years of hard driving and they are just starting to make noise. I'm goign to re-lube the brakes and spray some anti-squeel compound onto the back of the pads, they sound really bad. Goes with the lumpy idle and loud ass chatter though, pretty badass lol.

I have polished aluminum rims from Iforged and ive driven them for a month now, and they dont get dirty, what i think it is. The more spokes the worse, b4 i had the stock ZHP rims 10spoke. Thos got dirtys in one drive. now i only have 5 spokes, and i dont clean as much as i used to.
