help with capacitor

hey everyone

i just installed a capacitor in my 1997 328is and it seems as if the lights are dimming now a lot worse then they were before. i dont know how this is possible please help.

I think a lot of people make the mistake of not charging the capacitor first .. read the instructions that came with it (if its new) then you will see that you should have charged it before installing it. Use a voltmeter and find out the power outage coming from the battery, coming from the cap, and what the cap is when the car is off (if its charged). You should have a steady 12.1 volts at least coming from the cap when the car is on with deep bass.

the thing is i did charge the cap though. it read 12.1 when i connected the battery and when the car is running with bass it is up to 14. so i am not sure what that means

well that sounds right .. what type of cables are you using .. what ohm? how much power you pushing .. what type of car.
