e39 540i suspension after-market

Hi all,

Since I feel my car might need new suspension. Deciding to go OEM and replace everything as per spec.

or

Go aftermarket.

Let's here the suggestions. I will be going at least 2 times a year to the track down the road.

No sense in holding back your car on the track with a stock suspension... To get a stock suspension or stock sport suspension from your dealer might cost as much as getting a better aftermarket and having someone else install it...

In my opinion.. I would go with Bilstein shocks and Eibach Springs but there are definately other companies that produce products that you can use.

H&R springs on Koni Yellow is a good choice, the H&R will give you a good drop & Koni Yellow's shock stiffness can be adjusted, or spend a little more & get H&R coilovers or Bilstein PSS9 coilovers.

Hi Oyster,
I have a set of brand new H&R's still in box that my fiance got me for my B-day and I have no use for them...they are for a 540i and will give you the same drop as the sport model. I already have the sport model oem suspension and I'm satisfied with my stance. Also, if were to install the H&Rs it would give me the same look as factory sport. I have been reluctant to sell them because I may need them down the road and I don't want to deal with most of the e39 enthusiast in the states. I now need the money just to maintain my 204,000 km 540i. I'll post pics asap. $250 negotiable.
