Charlie saved me again !!!!!

Went by his shop yesterday to pick up my car.

Just as a heads up people I was driving on the 404 doing about 120 and my trailing arm snapped out sending my car side to side in the left (fast) lane. I manage to park it on the right side shoulder with no additional damage. No rims damage no fender damage didnt hit a wall or anyone else and most importantly no damage to me. Had it towed to Charlie and "THE MAN" went to work reinforcing everything back there. New Bilstein M3 shock to top it off. Charlie once again pulls through after a scary scenario so let that be a note to the E36 owners to have you trailing arms check !!!

What can I say about Charlie I haven't said before? His heart is bigger then his shop. Thanks again Charlie and Mr. Blaze for another fine job. I think Charlie and Jon have had my car longer then I have. LOL But it should be ready now for anything anyone throws at it.

Also saw some members there as well Boots, Notjoe and a blond girl (I assume she is a max member but I forgot her name) Sorry love I am brutal like that.

P.S. On a side note charlie I found a way to get a third dot from the green and red dot. Once you mix them together you get a yellow one !!!!!! Please set up a meeting immediately to prove this theory !!!

Georgie, I saw the damage to your car. WOW you are a lucky man. The tire rubbed right though your fuel filler neck!

(At least the Chromies are still good! )

Yeah Boots it was f**king scary buddy. Massive heat generated. Could have caught fire very easy. How I kept the ride off the wall I have not clue. Good driving, alot of luck and a sprinkle from the man up above.

Yeah Chromes are still blinging polished them real nice after. LOL

Wow that is scary.

Do you know what caused it? Did it rip the metal mounts out? or did the trailing arm itself break.

Yeah the bolt snapped and the bracket tore off. Funny thing is the other side Charlie looked at and was starting to do the same thing so obviously what was done to the one side charlie did to the other

I was very very lucky !!

Damn George, glad you made it out with only a dent in your wallet. Make sure to pick up a lotto ticket on the way home today.

On a lighter note...120km/h? Yeah right

Shit thats crazy, i still don't understand what part exactly broke. I wanna double check mine since i tend to do a lot of highway driving.

I'm under the impression that the trailing arm broke off where it bolts into the RTAB's.... or was it lower, where it connects to the wheel?
Can you provide any visuals?

From what I saw yesterday, it was where it bolts into the RTABs. Right here: (ignore the circles and writing. Stole the pic from somewhere else)

thank you boots. See where the 2 bolts are on the bottom of that image well I of them snapped off and the bracket that the bolts goes threw was torn off. Thanks for the "glad your ok's" Soldo. Its was messed up I would never want that to happen to anyone. Learn from this and get them checked

Yep, same thing. Luckily I wasn't going that fast when it went. I was on the highway doing like 150 10 minutes prior to it busting. Luckily it happened when I slowed down
