ecu question

can anyone repair a motronics ecu off a 325i?? how can I check if the ECU is actually bad?
If not... whos selling?

well what are the symptoms? i dont think it would be very easy to repair the ecu itself. are you _sure_ its bad?

the ecu seems not to be responding at all the car dosent even crank

If it does not crank then i would check battery or starter but not the ecu.

Probably won't stay running with a bad ECU but I'm guessing it should crank too.

or even the ignition switch. do any lights come on on the dash? anything that would indicate that some power is getting somewhere? do the dome lights come on when you open the doors? is the battery even charged?

the cluster lights turn on... The battery is fully charged... thats why my mind went directly to the ecu.... my o2 sensor is toast, does that affect it?

No, the car will run without the o2. From what i remember, the car should crank even without the ECU, and in general i would look at other things then the comp.
