e34 Shuddering

This problem is with both the 90 and the 95 E34's... more so the 90.

Under moderate-hard acceleration, the car shudders. Is this a common problem? Where should I start looking... i was thinking it would be related to the driveshaft damper (guibo?) or hanger bearing maybe..

sounds drive shaft related. My problem was the hanger bearing.

guibo is common on those cars, check that first.

Not all have a guibo, my 90 535i auto did not have a guibo, I had the shudder which was only eliminated by replacing the hanger bearing.

I don't see a guibo.. where are they usually located? I see the hanger bearing which is pretty much right behind the tranny.

PS now that i've eliminated other vibration problems (wheel replaced (bent), balanced, and steering box replaced), this shudder i am getting only around 60km/h (55-65). How much of a pain is it to replace that hanger bearing?
