Cold Temps Really Affect Angel Eyes?
I havent brought my car out yet but since I installed my new headlights but Ive tested the angel eyes a few times. They look great but some times 1 of them will be dimmer than the other 3. So i would turn them off and then 5 minutes later turn them back on and they all look perfect once again! This all being done with the car on. Do temps under 40 degrees affect the brightness of the rings???

^^^ Ditto, plus I stored mine in my porta garage all winter and started her up last week and the eyes are fine.
Also like i mentioned before if your car is off with the rings on they will get dim eventually as they suck the juice out of the Batt big time..

seems to be a common problem.
i just dont understand why 3 out of 4 on my car turn on right away and the 4th one always takes agessssssss to come on. quite anoying driving like that.
so my friends always make fun of me when im waiting for the thing to turn on lol. sometimes it takes up to 10min when i turn on the highbeam to kinda heat the glass up infront of the ring, that always seems to do the trick.

I have two that are perpetually purple. I think I'm going to upgrade to the Chromiums with the cold weather ballasts. I hate having the headlights look like they're screwed up...

CCFL angel eyes have problems in the winter. The cold doesn't work well with the cold cathode technology. LED's work better, but aren't as bright.

here is a lil trick that works for me (other then dissconecting them during the winter). For my car its the passenger side high beam ring that takes for ever to warm up, so i pop the hood and unplug the passenger side low beam, then turn on my lights and it pops on alot quicker then i plug the other one back in and they are fine.
Its annoying as hell to do, which is why during the winter mine are off, and i just run my city lights. Warm weather is almost here, almost time to hook them back up

I get this too.
Drivers side outer ring always flickers in cold weather.

Bringing this thread back from the dead!
Anyone find any fixes for this? I tried hard wiring but one of the rings still takes time to get going.
The only thing that works is to turn them on and off until it pops on.

Get the new DDM AE's with the LED's. Super bright, no cold issues.

Do they look as good as the CCFL rings? Wouldn't mind seeing a picture if anyone has them. I've seen them on an e46, but would like to see how they look on an e36.
They're the new 60 Led ones?
