E36: ASA AR2 (anthracite) vs. CSL Replica
Which would be a better option on a black E36 sedan w/ M3 front bumper?
I love the CSL replicas to death and the AR2s have a similar look, it's the polished lip I like about them. To me, the AR2s are like the CSL replicas but with a sweet lip. The CSLs are a timeless, subtle and understated design, whereas the AR2 have a more "modded" feel to them.
I just can't decide on a set to buy this summer ... both are so sweet and there's no way you can go wrong with CSL replicas, but then there's the AR2s!!!!
The worst part is that the price difference is literally $3/rim. So I can't take the pricing approach to solving this. Also, the CSLs are 18x8.5 all around and AR2s are 18x8F and 18x9R.
PICS: (keep in mind the AR2s have a gunmetal-ish Anthracite finish)

The ASA's look better off the car, but I've seen them on a car, and the CSL wheels look better.

Both are nice rims, but personally I would go with the CSA's... a) I like the lip, b) They are staggered.
Good luck with whatever you go for!

I like the ASA's. The CSL's are nice but seem to be becoming more common now... that is to say, more people seem to be getting them, havn't seen a lot in person but I hear people talking about getting them a lot.

Here's a pic of the AR1s in 17x8 and 17x9:
I may be interested in selling... The wheels have only been driven 2 summers and stored in my garage for the winter. They are MINT except for one tiny spot on the rear right wheel (which I could have refinished if the price is right).

I'd be interested, but not in 17s. If only there were 18"

Go for the CSL's. They give the car more of an OEM look!
