Resonators? Can they quiet down an exhaust?

Resonators, wher are they located on the car (obviously somewhere along the exhaust)?
Thanks
J

Off WASBI, it's a brullen muffler, not cat back, I don't have that kind of money right now. It's a dual inlet/outlet, going to stick with the round style tips, not dtm.

If it's only the muffler chances are the resonator is still there. No reason for it not to be unless you purposely removed it.

You can remove it, but it will probably get louder, not only that buy you will have to reweld parts of the pipe.

Because they have to cut the resonators off (remove i mean) and then they have to substitute that section taken off by welding straight pipes instead.

Removing resonators will not deepen the sound. It'll most likely sound more a bit broken-like and louder, almost like a race car
