Opinions on e36 clears pricing and quality

Looking for clears all around and after a few minutes of surfing to the well known BMW parts sites, this is what I came up with:

************ $500
autowerks.com $439
bavauto.com $396
bimmerworld.com $392 OEM
namotorwerks.com $307 DEPO
understeer.com $220 DEPO
umnitza.com $254
jlevisw.com $243

I converted all prices to $CDN and they will all have some sort of brokeridge and/or duties except for bimmian but he is the most expensive. I know DEPO is not as good quality as OEM but a lot of people seem to buy their headlights so they can't be that bad. The price is certainly a lot more attractive.

Any thoughts, input or other suppliers.

Try Tunerworks.ca as well, they're in Calgary, so you'll save on brokerage and PST. You can also try calling Bimmersport/Charlie or Luxotec/Bruce. They're located in Mississauga and I believe can get those for you cheaper then at the dealer.

I'll second that. Clears all around cost me roughly $120 USD to my door. I just asked the seller to mark the items as a gift under $20 CAD. Works everytime

For the price, the eBay clears are awesome. I'd never spend upwards of $200 on just changing the orange to clear. That's a total waste especially when the "eBay" clears do the exact same job for less than half the price.

The ebay rear corners have a tendancy of throwing OBC codes though ("Rear Tailight Failure")

That said, I have OEM on my 328 and DEPO on my 318, they look practically identical. I just wouldn't get DEPO's for headlights.

If you follow the instruction you won't get OBC errors. Ironically, my OEM tails threw tail light errors ALL the time, but the eBay ones have yet to give me an error code

People that complain about those either have bulbs in the wrong sockets causing power overload and triping the error code, or they don't remove the metallic tabs on the tail light backings as shown in the instructions for OBC cars.

I'm very surprised to hear you suggest ebay. I would have thought they were crap that why I didn't even look into them.

Any of you remember the seller you used? I'd rather go on a recommendation that take a shot in the dark!

The seller I sued was REVOTEC on eBay, VERY helpful and knowledgable guy. Since my car is a 96, there was some cofusion as to which type of sidemarker I needed, but he verified it and knew what he was talking about (very rare among eBay sellers, 99% of the time they don't know squat about the item).

I got my clear front corners, side markers, and tails off him. Ask him to simply value the product as a gift under $20 bucks and you should be fine.

By the way, do you have a sedan or coupe? I have my sedan front corners for sale since I went the smoked route for my car. Let me know if you're interested - might save you some bucks

Thanks. I have contacted him but his prices are great. I'm actually looking for the smoked fronts too but thanks for the offer.

I contacted REVOTEC on ebay. He has smoked rears but not fronts, so I'm just going to go clear all around. His price was good, $141 for front/rear/side including shipping. i haven't got them yet as I think I'll wait till spring but dbworld4k used him and was happy.

When are you planning on getting them?
