I am looking for a car, preferably japanese or european that is still running, and that is standart. If anyone lives in toronto or GTA that are planning to sell a car that meets these parameters, please post.

Thank you

WHAT KIND OF CAR DO YOU EXPECT TO BUY WITH THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY?
CERTAINLY IT WONT BE *FIT* FOR THE ROAD...

Save some money and spend at least $3-$5000...and buy something that is safe.

People these days are so frigin cheap....maybe you can get a deal on a $300 car if you lived in Somalia....

a guy that works with me keeps buying cars like that. max $500 on each and drives them until they break. this last one he bought also around $500 and he had it now for two years and the car is almost older then me.

he has a few thing broken on it but never fixes it as long as it keeps running

had you posted this last year this time
I woulda had a 86 AUDI 5000S
ran great, alot of electrical problems tho .. ended up giving it away

solid body no rust
a few dents from when i kicked it tho
the starter failed at one point so i had to kick start the car to get it going
turn the key while someone kicked the front end to get the starter to go

there are plenty of cars for the price range you are looking for, you just have to look hard. I remember my buddy bought a 83 Regal for 400, put 120 into it, drove it for the winter and sold it for 2000. the reason he got it so cheap is because the guy he bought it off thought there was a serouis problem with the engine and after he sold it it turned out that it was only the throttle body.

I had an opportunity to buy a 97 Dodge Breeze for 700 off of some stupid asian kid that thought it was really bad. I couldn't buy off him cause his parents promised it to a family friend.

So the moral of these two stories is that there will always be stupid people that will have things they don't know about and are willing to sell these cars at low cost. You just have to find them.

I'm prolly going to do this for next winter.
I have my eyes set on a piece of crap like a Chrysler Reliant K-Car.
I see them for sale all the time for around the $200 to $500 range. I figure if it lasts me one winter, that's worth it for me =)

(i'll prolly do some ice racing with it too =)

Give the person a break Rob, it has nothing to do with being cheap. Before razing this guy about what he's spending, find out what he wants to do with it. Maybe he's a mechanic looking for his next project..point is never assume anything. Just cuz you got the world handed to you on a silver platter don't expect everyone to have deep pockets.

In looking for a cheap car, use the search function of autotrader.ca and just put in $ parameters. Good luck.
