x2............

Manufacturers are in it to MAKE money. Most of the stuff like that is made to look awesome............ and sometimes there's some hoe-kie pokie tech shit throw in that usually doesn't mean anything. And sometimes they do work, but I've never seen one hold up over time. Everyone I've seen has fallen apart and was worthless.............

You can never go wrong with a JL, couple of my friends have them and it blows my mind when I ride around with them. With nice clear sound!

Frank makes some interesting stuff................. or should I say acquires some really neat gear from over seas. I haven't talked to him in a long time. I used to run a boat load of his stuff when I first got seriously involved in car audio and built this stupid extended cab MAzda B2600i 4X4. It had tons of his speakers EVERYWHERE. I had to mount the amps on the ceiling because I just ran out of room.......... fan-cooled. I think the gear weighed in more then the vehicle !!!

IDMAX is awesome............. but I can smoke it with a TREO TSX for a hell of a lot less money. The IDMAX is a tiny bit better for pure SQ (sound quality), but that's it. I think the TREO is something like a 1/4 of the price though (retail $$$ wise). Bang for your buck.............

Buddy of mine in BC is running two TREO TSX 10.22 in a box and just now hit 154's in USAC I believe.......... or is it DB Drags. Can't remember. He's up 1 db since I last posted. Now that's kickin azz with two 10" !!!! I don't know exactly how he's doing it and it baffles me on how his numbers keep going up. I think he feeds his TREO's crack................. and a shot of JD before hitting them.

I am very happy with my JL, but if/when I upgrade I will probably look at some other subs.

Like IDMAX, RE etc.

I'm not sure Paul , I have the mesurments some were , I'll try to find and let ya know.
But it rocks , origanally we were going to just do what I.D called for , but I wanted the box to just fit between the rear shock towers
( extra support for the towers ) my springs are on the rear shocks (custom coil overs)
Any way, so Ron Hardy said no prob ! we'll just partition it down to the right size !
Then some how we decided to just let it breath , I think Ralph's influence on Ron had a bit to do with it !
You know Ralph Bennidetti ( his truck won the worlds in 96 )

In my experiance JL is the best. It is not the loudest but It is the clearest and has by far the best sound quality. So if your out to show off to people who are 2 blocks away go to a company like kicker but if you are concerned about the people who are actually in the car are hearing go for JL you will not be disapointed.
p.s. don't get me wrong JL can still go plenty loud
