Zimmie...he should have a fine spline ('82 and up E24's) and not a coarse spline as found on earlier BMW's E3/E9/E21/E12's etc...

Here's one going for a reasonable price (older style)...I'm sure you can change the hub for a fine version that will accept the mounting hole location of the Alpina version.
