Speakers aren't working need help
92 325i
i just put a deck and there is no sound so then i hooked the speakers directly to the deck to check if they were working and they were fine so i don't know why there is no sound when i hook it up to a harness.. if any body can help me that would be great.

does it have a factory amplifier? some stock audio systems have a small amplifier built into them - you have to provide some sort of turn-on power to it before your speakers will work.

I had the same problem, but i still had Radio.
Do you have Radio and no CD?

where is the ampilifier located and i don't think i have the radio either but ill check on that

On mine, it is on the left hand side of the trunk, if you are looking into the trunk. There is a carpet lining aorund your trunk, you have to peel it back, to reveal this:

That big black square to the left is your rear speaker. The black box to the right is your amp.

ya i found the amp but how do i provide some power to it and how do i know if there is power coming to the amp.. sorry i don't know much thanks for your help guys

ok you bought a wiring harness for the new deck, right? often there's a blue/blue-white wire in it, that is described as the 'amp turn on wire'. look on the back of the harness to see if either of those 2 wires has a corresponding wire in the stock harness. if one or both of them does, then try turning the car to acc. and jumping one of those blue wires to +12. if you get sound, then great! wire that wire to the amp turn-on wire of the new deck. if it doesnt work, try with the other wire.

thanks alot guys its working now i jumped the blue wire to turn on the amp.. once again thanks for all the help

OK,if you have wired in the speakers from deck to the hearnes you are taken power from one and in to the other.....BOOOOOM.....
