DPE's The Good the Bad and The Ugly??

What are the general impressions with DPE? Are they a Solid wheel? Worth the money? Any rust problems (iforged) or reverse step lip problems/vibrations (HRE)? Anything I should be aware of when looking? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I was planning on DPE as well because I can't afford HRE's, they look like decent quality rims, and a good selection of customizing rim finishes, didn't get to talk to them yet, but when I checked their site last time they didn't have any 8.5inch wide rims, only 8 or 9 inch wide, either way

They will all have the reverse lip issue with water, only BBS and OZ don't off the top of my head, if you want a big flat lip.
You are paying a lot for iForged, HRE, and DPE. Non of which is really a high end wheel, but they claim to be. When DPEs first came out, they were affordable, but not from what I hear anymore.

To tell you the truth, I haven't had many problems with my HRE's and vibrations. I don't know if I'm lucky or what.

you are lucky. I had two sets, and they both had big issues. One developed a crack in the rear rim. The 2nd set would not take a balance properly. I guess I just had bad luck with them. I found the finish on the HREs to be delicate too, not durable at all. Im a HRE hater though, so don't mine me. I went BBS after my 2nd set, and never looked back.

Mine are a steal at $2500, but Im guessing most ppl want 19s for street.
Volk is also a very good rim. I don't like the styling personally, but that just my taste.

I know what you mean about Volk's, I only like 3 of their rims, most of them are to flashy & rice for me.

So with DPE I'm basically in the same boat as HRE's, where I have a flashy looking forged rim that is more than sufficient for street use?

Clarence- They aren't for the 540, I'm goig to stick with my LM's for that

I've been there in person, very nice operation and great guys. They're actually a bunch of engineers that left HRE to start their own operation and they use the same forging technology - so the rims are just as good. If money was no object I'd get a set without a seconds' hesitation.

Note, HRE, iforge and DPE, the center is the only portion of the wheel that is forged.

I assume that for daily drving, and a grocery getter than these will be more than overkill. The car will not see any track, ever.
