central locking problemss

on my new project ive already got one thing to tackle - the central locking is no worky...i first started at the fuse box and the fuse was just fine...i know the lock motors are all functional and i even tried the trunk lock motor on my 318iS and it worked no problem...i'll pulled the central locking control unit and checked if it was getting power at the harness and it is infact getting power. i also hear of 2 relays the central locking uses for unlocking and locking and i only ended up finding one....nothing seems to be cut..so now some questions:

are the central locking modules known for crapping out?

has anybody seen these 2 "lock" and "unlock" relays the central locking uses? cause i only seen one.

any other ways of testing or finding out wtf is goin on are welcome.
