Hey Everyone

hey thanks for the welcome! thanks to randy , i didnt even know this site exsisted. looks great here, and i think it will take off quite well with new users. anyways, as everyone pretty much knows that im only doing race prepared cars, our distributors takes care of our performance parts, but... im also doing in house conversions, such as m50 in e30, or larger custom engine building. also, i will help as best as i can to assist anyone here if they need a hand in installing performance parts or diagnosis of problems, through here (maxbimmer). and also provide you guys/gals with the best price possible for your wanted performance needs

again, thanks and you can reach me at dave@motronixmotorsports or by here...

M50 conversion

2 things you can do.. actually 3 things you can do. depending on budget.
1 . m50 2.5 93-95 325e36 engine/transmission/rad/exhaust manifold/downpipe, etc... conversion would cost $5grand installed. over 200+hp w/chip/filter/exhaust/tb
2. 3.2 ltr conversion from 97-99 m3 and convert it to obd1 system from 1993-1994 harness. $9grand installed. 270hp+ w/software/tb/exhaust/cai
3. install a dowling atlanta supercharger on your 4cyl. and get 200hp and 200lbs of torque. best bang for the buck and its all bolt on. price is $7500.00 installed

but remember, if you want to spend money on your 4cylinder like cams and so fourth, its great, but you will always lose bottom end power to acheive the top end power. and a 4cyl will always be a 4cyl.. dont get me wrong, i like those engines, and they way they rev, but displacement is the key.

thanks

what year is the e30? to complete a turn key system with a 2.8ltr, it will cost you $6500.00 installed

its the power to weight ratio when it is installed that makes this e30 friken quick.

Re: M50 conversion

A couple more quesion for you Dave. I am planning to install DASC in my 96 ti in May. I know with taxes and everything I can get DASC for about 6k CAD + installation that I would probably do myself. However, m50/S52 conversion seems to be a very attractive option. But I have some concerns/questions:

a) What would be the milage on the m50/s52 engine?
b) How much heavier the 6cyl engines compared to m44? I like the balance of the ti and was wondering how it would be affected. ti's don't have a trunk to counterbalance heavier engine like coupe/sedans.
c) Do you include transmission in the conversion?
d) I don't have LSD, would would it cost to either convert my defferencial to LSD or replace it with something that is geared a bit lower.
E) This is a big one: instument cluster?

Thank you very much
SL

For engine weights, you can go here:

It might have some other useful info too.
