i was scammed once aswell from a purchase i made on an audi forum for a set of coil overs. sucks big time. Luckily for me, and i strongly suggest that everyone do this when possible, make your purchases with your visa!! After about 2 months of investigating the case Visa fully refunded my money. I think that if call your bank and discuss the situation they may be able to help you out with this. They are insured for this kinda stuff. goodluck.

Doesn't this accumulate to mail fraud? I don't know if it still applies if you used UPS, but I'm sure there has to be a legal way...

weird I knew him as well, talked with him a bit at last year's midnight cruise and on here as well. Seemed like a really nice down to earth guy, hope this is all a missunderstanding and that things work out for you!
props to you for dealing with this in a mature manner and stateing that if it is infact a mistake that you would be willing to retract this thread and issue an appology very impressed!

Why don't you give the buyer the option to get the product or the money? I think that's the right thing to do....

Money Back???
He PAID the money for the RIMS
He should be gettin his rims in the mail not the money........unless of course there were no rims in the first place and you had a change of heart.
Thats the only way I can explian you sendin back money and not offerin the rims to complete the original transaction.
just my 2 cents

My condolences to you and your family. With all due respect, a courtesy call to the buyer would have been appropriate. He would have understood your situation.

Send him those rims unless he requested otherwise. If not nobodys is going to trust you in the future and all your sales will be local. I send the same day people pay because the hours get longer after youve been seperated from your cash.
