E30 318 diff for sale

My mechanic has a E30 318 diff for sale. If you want accleration for your 325 and don't mind topping out around 160kph then this is for you (4.10 ratio). He took the E30 325 in for the payment of a large bill and has no use for it. Best reasonable offer!

Caution....

I have been told by several knowledgeable BMW racers/tuners that the 318 diff will not last long when mated up to a 325 powerplant.

The 318's used a lighter-duty tranny and diff vs. 325's of the same era. The torque of an M20 motor will cook a 318 diff quickly.

Just a warning.

Well I just found out that it isn't a 4.10. More like a 3.73 or something. And thanks for the heads up...seriously!

No sweat- wouldn't want someone to buy it and be pissed at you.

Is it limited slip?
What does he want for it?
What year 325 did it come out of?

Thanks.

GT?

Well looks like the diff isn't for sale. The guy got another job and is going to pay his bill off. Not 100% shure tho. And all I know that it was not limited slip...you would have to ask my mechanic about the other details.

Yea, E30 318 (4-bolt) rear ends are very weak. I cooked my 4.10LS in my 318is very badly. The internals might as well have exploded. I currently run a big-case 3.73LS.

E30M50, that diff is either a 3.64 or 3.91, they are the only 318 ratios out there, if not 4.10.
