I think the upcoming M3 would be a more direct competitor to the RS4.

i thought i heard the new m3 is gonna have around 400hp .... if thats the case, i wouldnt be suprised if it beats the rs4 aswell.... but i would definately like to see the races!

it will, it has that same engine basicly but is rumored to be producing around 450hp instead of 400

even if it's only 400, i think it will still beat it, cause that RS4 is a heavy car, and from a rolling standpoint, it has AWD which will be slower when doing a rolling run. Off the line AWD helped him and that's why he got and stayed ahead of the M5, if the M5 were AWD i think it would have at least stayed neck and neck...

I think that's gotta be my next bimmer because it was better than its contemporaries and is still better than the current crop.

RS4 is a compact car while the M5 is a mid size sedan.
Need a RS6 to be a proper comparison, but I do think that little RS4 held it's ground well, especialy off the line.
