It'd be better and more than likely CHEAPER to put an LS1 Corvette/Camero motor in your car! Not to mention the power output would be just the same if not better!

Cheaper, yes, but better? I think its sacralege. Its like putting a chevy engine in a ford and vice versa.

I'm usually one to agree with you, but give it a rest on this topic. WHY spend the money on something with LESS power especially when it COSTS MORE!

I'll also take a guess that your not too keen on inter racial couples either, huh?

Not to mention that a LS motor is lighter than the inline six bmw offers. Its the better deal no matter how you look at it. Cheaper performance parts (just as reliable).

Oh shit, I didn't even think about e46. I thought since everyone has e30 and e36, naturally he would be referring to those

M3 Transplant into a 323i with SMG... He did almost all of the install himself but even then its still pretty pricy. He's at MIT. Mind you this is just an engine transplant

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=359200

Here he is again installing a s54 into an e30

Then there is the famous Technik SC 330ii which has a SC'd 330i engine with an external M3 conversion... they made the fenders and power buldge with sheet steel

http://www.technikpower.com/site/ass...27_409589.jpeg

And theres another external conversion done on e46fanatics. Its a white 325ci

The swap that the guy from MIT did on E46fanatics is LEGEND, and he did a HELLUVA lot more than just a simple engine swap! He did the M3 engine bearing upgrade by himself, and also supercharged the engine while it was sitting on a crate before it even made it into the car, not to mention a facelift on the front/headlights, countless interior changes, an LSD, and most all of it done by the man himself. Every step of the way he had tons of pics. The thread was CRAZY man, and its an awesome read. I just assumed everyone knew about it. Check it out:

EDIT: just realized the post above mine already had the link. DOH! Oh well, its worth mentioning twice.

Lol, M3 swap ain't gonna happen, I have neither the money or the know-how

However, I am really tempted to get a sc, or maybe I'll save up for a 335 instead Then I'll surely be able to keep up with you
