What's the contest? A drag race? A road race? A car show? A stopping contest? Skidpad test?
FWIW, there's a lot more that comes into play than just the raw numbers there. Gearing, for one, is a big determinant of what will be quicker (which, I'm assuming, is what you were asking about).
Of course, it'd probably help if someone pulled out an old magazine article or two with the test numbers.

I know the early e36 M3 has a close ratio transmission and a 3.46 diff, according to an early issue of Car and Driver. The close ratio box, in this instance, means the top gear (5th) is a 1:1 ratio.
FWIW = For What It's Worth
HTH (hope this helps)!

Car: 1997 Jetta GLX VR6, 1998 BMW E36 323is {M52}(SOLD!), '04 e46 325iT (pops), '86 e30 325e {M20}(My Classic),

Wait a sec, now, my mom had an 850 T5 wagon and it was god damn fast. It had the high pressure turbo. The sedan is a pretty quick car as well as the coupe, but the M3 would be faster, but would NOT beat it hands down.
My mom now has a volvo XC AWD wagon with the lightpressure turbo and it is quite quick.
The only downfall with the T5 sedan is FWD I think.
