Wanli Tires...Or Falkens

I got a quote for $125 each for 225/45ZR17's Wanli's
I also got a quote for $123 for the Falken's ZE512 in 225/45ZR17

The thing is the Wanli's are from a friend...But I'm leaning in on the falken's.

I read up on Wanli's, and heard different stories. Yokohama makes them, they are made in China, they are made in Lebannon, made in Turkey...etc..

Any ideas, for life and quality? What about them blowing out?

Wanli's are terrible. People that like them don't know of anything better.

Falkens, by a long shot.

I have Kumho Ecsta ASXs. For the price, a great tire. They grip well but are loud after a lot of wear. Can't have it all from a cheap tire.

ASX's were quite good when they came out, as a non-aggressive all-season.

The ZE-512 Falken is a better tire all around though, and actually costs less.

I've heard PLENTY of good things about ZE-512's. Go with them for sure!

Where did you get that quote, by the way? And is that a price installed?

Nope not an install wich sucks. But beggers can't be choosers.

And that's in Ottawa at Nolimits, that's where I got my alternator and muffler from. cheapest place in town

Well turns out he's offering me the Wanli's for under $500 tax in mounted and balanced...I'll give them a shot till I store her, that's all I really wanted)2 months of cheap tires won't hurt. Next year I'll probablly go back to my Yoko's avs es 100's for $1200 installed and balanced...after I get my camber kit.

I'll keep her under 60km so I don't get a blow out

I hard that before but doesn't the Falken have a soft sidewall that gives in cornering?

Seems a higher than average PSI solves a lot of that.

And ASX's are quite soft too. Never compared them directly, but they are a comfort-biased tire.

hmm. perhaps I lack experience, but I don't find the cornering bad on it at all for an all season ultra high performance tire. yes, they are comfortable.

I have Falken Azenis RT615 on my crx.
Lets just say I look forward to taking corners now.

Downfall of Falken Azenis is that they are heavy tires,
Toyo T1R are lighter and grip just as good.

They don't grip just as good, and are considerably more expensive. Stiff sidewalls weigh something.
