You want to put a 4 cylinder M3 engine in your 735? dude it won't have enough power to move your car.
How about a 718 haha you can swap with me? you'll be the olny 718 around it'll be sick!

The m50 can get u more power than the s14 e30m3 motor for much cheaper.
U can get the m50 installed for $6k, but you're looking $7k just for the m3 engine alone.

Buy an e30 88-91,then put in an M50 with a supercharger or an S50 . DO NOT PUT AN E30 M3 ENGINE ! It belongs in an E30 M3,plus it's $$$ to maintain.

88-91 e30's will be in better condition and have different lights n stuff than the pre 88 e30...M50 engine will be cheaper than the S50....dont put the S14(i think thats the e30 m3) engine because its high maintanance and its 4cyl, wouldnt you rather have a 6cyl s/c for almost the same price?

Hi Bavaria..
When it comes to engine choice, i would go with the M50 engine and turbocharge it. It doesn't have to be very expensive if you do most of the work yourself.
If you lower the compression, buy a decent turbo and intercooler and engine management system like autronic or haltech, you'll be looking at power figures with at least 400bhp.

Bavaria...
Where i live, you can get an M50 engine in good shape from about 1500-2000USD.
When it comes to the engine swap, take a look at this site.. www.e30m50.com

Yep, M52's are a little more difficult to get hold of, but they're in about the same price range as an S50 engine... about 2500USD...
