Thinking about the Mini Cooper S

I was in the Mini dealership beside budds bmw, and test drove the Mini Cooper S. I think that the performance is identical to my 323, but the handling is far superior because of the short body and Z3 suspension. I was quite pleased with it. Tommorrow I am taking mine to Budds, to see just what they would give me a on a trade in. I will probably sell privately. It will be in the spring.

What do you think I could get for my car with the options listed below in my signature? Oh yeah the car has 126,000kms and serviced regularly. Thanks for imput.

the cooper S will lay a beating on your 323!!!
that things what 170 horse, supercharged....
1/4's in the low low 15's... its a pretty quick little car!
I wouldn't give up your 323 for it though.. stick with your bimmer, trusttttttt me, you WILL regret it if you dump the bimmer for that thing...

The Cooper S is a little beast.

Make sure its stick, and you will never regret it. It handles like its on rails.

AC Schnitzer, Hamann, and countless other tuners are making mad aftermarket parts for it.

Not to mention the hundreds of colour combos you can do!

My dad has one in gunmetal grey with a white roof and the optional 17's. Its a funky little car and it pulls decently!

I dont think you should trade in your car for the cooper S. Its a nice car in all but people dont respect it as much as they do with the BMW u have. I think you would end up regretting it.....

I want to sell my bimmer while it is still worth something (below 150,000kms), I can't afford a new e46, but I can lease a Mini Cooper S for 4 years for 580 a month taxes in, but of course, I would put 5000$ down and keep the rest of the money from the car to make payments.
Just an idea.

The Cooper S is a great little toy..... but that's what it is in my opinion, a toy. If you've already got an everyday car, and you want this for fartin' around during the weekends, then go for it.
If it's gonna be you everyday car, I think you'll regret it cuz it compromises too much in areas that would compromise it's everyday functionality. (IMO)

loh

I wouldn't do it if I were you. E36 323's are RARE in Canada. I haven't seen one yet. I say keep the BM and mod the shit out of you engine. Your interior looks awesome by the way.

Buy the mini... I'd consider buying your 323 if the price is right.

Well I test drove her again. I had budds BMW appraise my car, and they said they would give me 16,000cdn (has 126,000kms), I would probably sell it privately.
I am not going to do anything right now, I will wait till the spring.

Oh yeah, Bart320i, thanks for the compliment, you are right the e36 323is is very rare in Canada, I am the only one on this board (like 1000 members) with a 323 e36.
