Porsche Unleased (NFS5)?

Does anyone still play this game?

I'd like to challenge or just play for fun with anyone who still has and play this game. Maybe we could do some LAN party over the Christmas break, who knows?

I tried the new NFS6, it's garbage, the game play when I tried the demo. HAndles like a typical arcarde racing game. At least the Porsche Unleased is closer in terms of physics.

It's like playing Unreal 2003, so un realistic and just over done!

Yeah, I have NFS6. He's right about the handling, it doesn't feel right. No game compares to Gran Turismo 3 in graphics, feel and over-all fun. But, GT3 doesn't have Ferrari's and Lambo's as well as McLaren F1 LM's and such. That's why I bought the game.

I loved NFS 5, I thought it was pretty well done. I played it everyday until I upgraded to WinXP, appearently NFS doesn't work with Win2000/XP....

With a decent computer, the graphics quality set to high, with a 4 or 5 point sound, and a force feedback steering wheel, it ruled.

I seriously think it's one of the best PC based driving games that I've played.

And yes, physics are a very important thing to me when I play any vehicle simulation game. I thought it was cool that on one of the courses (don't remember which one, mountain with snow), if you chose rain tires, lowered the newest Carrera 4, and removed as much suspension travel as possible, you could flip the car on one of the switchbacks/hairpins, or at least try to drive on two wheels for a while.

Hey Thinair, actually I'm running Win2k. I learnt from the NFS forums that all you do is just change your virtual memory settings as well as renaming this *.dll file, works fine on my computer

Well I can't find it now b/c I never booked mark it. However, if you go to google and type in

NFS 5 for Win2k/XP
or something like that sometimes the link shows urls to forums.

But if you want to know what you need to change I can tell you.

Hehe, my modified 911 Turbo (993) handle well and it was quick. Got a stage III or whatever turbo, so fun doing 4000rpm launches
