I was running circles around my buddies gutted 98hatch civic with SI motor with intake, exuast and headers and pullies. My car being much heaveir with only 155 bhp stock 320i motor. I guess the torque comes into play allot.

I dont know what all the hype abour GSR's are. They arent that quick, ive driven one. I also raced one and took it in my 325is. It seemed alot quicker in 3rd, 4th than in 1st or 2nd.

People hyype GSR's up way to much. I read an article in a sport compact magazine or some shit like that, and it said how Honda exagerated their stats for the GSR and it realy has like 140-150 stock hp. those were the results they got when they dynoed it

are u serious? he must not be a good driver no offense...a gutted 98 hatch with si motor (DOHC VTEC 160hp) with intake, exhaust, headers and pullies...i'd say hes hitting 175hp from that...he'd rape the 320i! my cousins civic, with the subs, 4 door, full interior, with just the type-r motor will kill the 320i...no offense, but i dunno man...a gutted 98 hatch with that motor and engine work can hit mid 14s!

The only thing i like about honda's are Type R's with a nice exhaust and hearing that v-tec kick in. Its a nice sound. All i wish for is people to get off civics. If you look at japan tuner mags all you see are rx7's, supra's, skylines, and sylvia's (just to name a few). They get cars that are fast and make them faster I know civics are easier to fix up and get ahold of especially when it come to parts cuz they make everything in the world for them but there played out There thats my quick lil bitchin*devil*

thats true, but unfortunatly we live in canada where we cant afford skylines and silvias!! lol although im proud to be here rather than in japan....

if i wanted a street drag car i'd get a honda...not only becuz i know how to fix em up, its also because they dont waste much gas (call me stupid i dont care), but at this stage of my life i'd rather have a smaller fast car than a fast tank...you can easily get 300hp outta a 1.8L honda vtec motor...

you dont need a type-r motor to get that sound, its the exact same as gsr, except with a type-r u have the 00' sir tranny, head, but with gsr block and port polished intake manifold...so you can get the same sound out of any vtec motor.

as for MKGINO...i dont think honda motors are the best, its just i hate how people look down upon them....this topic was about speed, a honda will kill a bimmer in 1/4...but im not saying honda's in general are better...

1/4 mile is nothing, look at the car as a whole, meaning put the car on a track and what do you get?? BMW all the way baby! Stock for stock mind you, not mod for mod ok? Ok good.

if you stopped lookin at porn for 1min and actually read the post, his friends honda had mods...so i am talkin bout modded honda, not stock for stock...and its about street racing also which is roughly mostly 1/4mile

I know, but all Im saying is that if you took those same cars and put em on the track it would be a different story. See, when you compare the two cars stock for stock, that should be the only real comparison because thats what both cars have to offer in a sense. Now thake both these cars and compare them stock for stock on a track, then there is a clear winner, bmw baby.

Ok hold on, the hatchback?? Or the coupe?? With the 175hp and 141 tq gsr engine will beat my car?? What are the specs of this engine and whats the weight of this car its in, and I will tell you if it can beat me, remember I can beat the RSX type S until he hits third and then Im about a car to a car and a half behind so...........

Honda = Econo Car.
BMW = Performance Luxury Car.

They are not even remotely similar in any way other than 4 wheels and a steering wheel.

Ya you can slap an intake, muffler, bla bla bla..... but face it, it's still an econo car. It's a car designed to take you to point B, I don' t care how much money you sink into it. It doesn't take a lot of HP to pull a tin can down the street.

I can understand that kids nowadays don't have the money to have a proper sports car. Fixing up a cheap Honda is the only way they can have anything that resembles one. But to then think you can 'beat' BMW's, Mustangs, bla bla bla with that tin can is vile.

Owned 2 different Honda's for 14 years total. To think any one of them, even with performance mods sunk into them, would be comparable to even a base, older BMW is a$$inine. (IMO)
