Question "gray" e46

hey guys, i searched the forum first and i could fined out what i'm looking for so here it goes, i was wondering if you guys know what the "gray" that came on some of the e46's is called? i am going to get a paint job done on my e30 and want to stick with a bmw colour and i realy like that one, but i need to know what the name of colour is. thanks

There are two standard greys: Steel Grey and Silver Grey.

would you consider "sparkling graphite"... gray or black?

well if you said that car was black, that would be a bit strange...no i'd say its gray. so "sparkling graphite" is the name for the colour...cool thanks

The kewl thing about this colour is that it looks very dark gray (almost black) on cloudy days and a hint of purple on very bright days. Its a very kewl metallic paint!

cool man ...that looks good, is this e46 that same colour do you think? it seams to look a bit lighter in colour.

and e46er i dont mean to be an ass but do you have a pic of your car on a cloudy day or in the shade i could see, that would help me out for sure. sory about this it just that picing a new colour for your car is a big thing to me. thanks

This is not sparkling graphite... it was never available on a M3.

To give you an idea, this e36 was painted e46 Steel Gray. (the other car was painted e46 steel blue I believe.)

KASSAB's e30 is kinda like steel gray but it also has some bluish to it...
i think you should look into the 4.6 or 4.8 X5 color...its the greyish color i dont know what its called..havent seen it on an e46 though!
