mynd ... didn't you replace the entire headlight though? i think he's looking to retrofit angel eyes on his stock (non-projector) headlamps.

Justin, I recently retro-fitted 7000K angel eyes into my already replaced headlights

well, maybe he is looking for more info than that, but thats all he asked and thats all I answered...

Not the greatest night shot, AEs are a lot 'thinner' than what the pictures shows...

myndgone - that's pretty sweet, looks clean. did you retrofit in existing or was it a new housing? one other question, i can't tell by the pictures, but are those xenon lights with AE? and finally, what was the total material cost?

justin - i saw pictures of your e36 with AE, were they a retrofit or new install and material cost?

i'm really excited with this purchase.

Thanks dude!

I got a set of clear lights about a year ago ($150) and I just got the angel eyes added ($70), plus $60 to install.

And yes, they are xenon lights with upgraded bulb (6000K), match the AEs to a tee (thanks Kurupt ).

I custom made my angel eyes around 5 years ago on the e36. I retrofitted rings from the e39, made my own light source / ballasts, and interchangable custom filters.

I can't recall the price I paid for materials, but it was surely much much more than it would cost at today's prices. I did this at a time when AE's were still very recent, and didn't really exist for e36's yet.

I will be retrofitting new angel eyes + headlights onto the e39 soon... I want HID's on there.

J

damm - that was a lot of work, making new parts for your AE conversion.

let me know if you want to share information on your HID project, I'll like to do the same for my e39 soon too.
